I've experienced a similar, but not exactly the same, problem. If I start even
a small application after LabVIEW - while LV is still running - the memory
allocated to LV is not de-allocated when LV is quit. (You can really see what's
going on by selecting "About this Macintosh" from the Apple while running
Finder!)

The problem I've seen can be alleviated by quitting the application(s) started
after LabVIEW and doesn't require a restart. (In my case a 30K application
caused 30M of memory to "disappear".)
