Hi Steve,

One of my first Labview projects required the use of external code to
communicate with an NT driver. The code and driver were provided to me and
I set out to figure out how to implement them in Labview. I spent some
time reading NI documentation and felt that the documentation indicated
that it was easier and even preferred to use a CIN than a DLL.
Unfortunatly, I don't remember the details of what made me believe this, I
think the fact that I found a step-by-step procedure for creating the CIN
may be one thing. I spent the better part of 3 weeks trying to build a CIN
that would work, with no succes. At which point I attempted to build a
DLL, with just a little advice from one of my pears that had more
experience than me, I had the DLL going in about 2 hours!

In summary, I am one engineer that won't be trying to build any more CIN's.
That my 2 cents.
